The Tanzania’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has today October 10, 2023 held a meeting with private school owners with the aim to discuss the challenges in the Educational Sector

Speaking while presiding over the meeting that took place in Dodoma, Prof. Adolf Mkenda , the Minister of Education, Science and Technology said this meeting is historic and timely for the Ministry of Education to interact with school owners.

‘’This is the first time that we are discussing with the Private Sector the challenges in investment and how to manage schools in holistic way to solve the problems faced by school owners as we look for strategies.’’ said Mkenda

Prof. Mkenda said helping to solve existing challenges in the private sector and non-governmental institutions that provide services in the education sector will help contribute to the provision of quality education to the Tanzanian Education system.

“I believe that after this meeting we will have a good future for the development of our education, so we want you to speak without fear, we are here to solve educational problems so that when we leave here, we will be better organized to ensure that we improve our education” said Prof. Belt

Omari Kipanga, the deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology said that the government’s role in education is to ensure that it provides education for all, so the private sector and other institutions helping the government should do their roles.

The meeting that was attended by over 500 school private owners attracted officials from office of the Prime Minister, Employment, Youth and People with Disabilities where Patrobas Katambi attended

Others were officials from the Ministry of Land and Housing, National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) and Taasisi ya Elimu Tanzania (TET).
