President Museveni commends UMA for the inspiring growth from just a mere 20 exhibitors to over 1,000.

President Yoweri Museveni yesterday October 5, 2023 praised Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) for the great inspiring growth that has increased the number of exhibitors from just a mere 20 to over 1,000 exhibitors for the last 29 years.

President Museveni made the remarks during the official opening of 29th Uganda’s International Trade Fair ((UGITF) on Thursday

Museveni who was represented by Jesca Alupo said this year’s trade fair serves as a platform to celebrate the association’s outstanding journey and its critical role in Uganda’s economic

Alupo who was a campaigned by David Bahati, the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Francis Mwebesa, the Minister of Trade Industry and cooperatives, Deo Kayemba UMA chairperson and others UMA official toured both local and international stall of exhibitors.

The 2023 UGITF that started on Tuesday 0ctober 3,2023 and will end on 10, 2023. The show is running under the theme of “Driving Manufacturing and Trade Efficiency through Digital Transformation and Innovation’’

UGITF is the premier business development event in East Africa which offers an unrivaled opportunity to showcase your products and engage with your customers. Previous exhibitors have reported increases in their sales following the exposure provided by the trade fair, the show has grown over the years attracting 1,350 exhibitors drawn from 28 countries and 25,000 daily unique show guests.

This year’s fair will officially open its doors from 3rd to 10th October, 2023 and is expected to attract over 350,000 show goers.

Meanwhile this year over Shs467m have been collected from various sponsors and partners. Key Partners included; Total Energies Marketing Uganda Limited, Science Technology and Innovation Secretariat, Stanbic Bank Uganda, Uganda Insurers Association, Tembo Steels Limited, and Kiboko Enterprises.

During the opening Alupo warded the most outstanding exhibitors for the tremendous innovation

Steel and tubes, was the oval winner of 2023 Uganda International Trade fair, Mesha Steal Limited, was best exhibitor in metal products, Palson Engineering Services and supplies Limited (PES) was the best supplies of Agricultural materials.
