Also present were the First Lady and Hon. Maama Janet Kataha Museveni, the Education Minister, along with many high-profile dignitaries from the government and abroad.

On behalf of the team, David Caprara expressed special gratitude to the Mufti for the profound speech delivered on his behalf by Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa at the festival. He also expressed hopes that the faith groups could continue to encourage family values among their followers so they could present testimonies related to their family-oriented activities at the next family festival.

“A dead family fosters a dead society and in turn leads to a dead country,” David Caprara said.

He further emphasized that their organization aims to preserve family values to maintain global stability.

In his response, Sheikh Waiswa paid tribute to the Global Peace Foundation for their brilliant idea of promoting family values, describing the just-concluded festival as timely and appropriate given the global trends contributing to family disintegration.

He also shared a brief history of the advent of Islam in Uganda, the formation of UMSC, its current state of affairs, and requested the opening of a new chapter of cooperation with UMSC in areas of development.

In attendance was Hon. Kagiiko Imam Shaffi, the UMSC Secretary for Social Services.

By Ashiraf Zziwa UMSC Spokesperson.
