{"id":9091,"date":"2024-06-04T15:28:54","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eastafricangazette.com\/?p=9091"},"modified":"2024-06-04T15:28:55","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:28:55","slug":"five-arrested-over-aggravated-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eastafricangazette.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/04\/five-arrested-over-aggravated-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"Five arrested over aggravated robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By eastafrican gazette<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Nateete Police Division in Kampala has effectively apprehended five individuals implicated in a severe robbery case.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrest took place on June 1, 2024, around 3:00AM while the Wakaliga Police Post was conducting a foot patrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the suspects were Robert Ssenjobe, also known as Soda, Elvis Kateraga, also known as Mark, and three additional individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon their arrest, the suspects were discovered with a range of stolen items, including a television and a smartphone, alongside dangerous weapons like machetes and tools used for breaking into houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the suspects were apprehended at the scene of the crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe police recovered two pangas, master keys, and other breaking implements, which have been secured as evidence,\u201d the deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspects have been charged and will be arraigned in court tomorrow on allegations of aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the owner of the recovered items, including the TV and smartphone, has been traced and his statement has been taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are increasing our visibility through patrols in residential areas to help curb the vice of burglaries and robberies,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By eastafrican gazette The Nateete Police Division in Kampala has effectively apprehended five individuals implicated in a severe robbery case.
