Andrew<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The European Union Commission has raised concerns about Elon Musk’s social media platform X, fomerly twitter, alleging that it violates online content regulations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The issue revolves around the “verified” blue tick accounts, which they say could mislead users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The EU’s tech regulator warned that individuals might mistakenly believe that accounts with blue ticks are verified, even though anyone can purchase one. Furthermore, the regulator allegedly discovered instances of “malicious actors” exploiting the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Additionally, there were transparency issues related to advertising, and X failed to supply data for research purposes as mandated by EU regulations, as contained in a post through the EU Commission\u2019s X account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The findings follow a seven month investigation under the Digital Services Act (DSA) which requires big tech firms, like X, to take action to stop illegal content and safeguard the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By J L.
