In a bid to build stronger Networking relationships between the governments of Uganda and the People’s Republic of China, their military officers have met to deepen such collaboration.
Last week, the Uganda peoples defense forces (UPD) joint chief of staff Maj.Gen.Jack Bakasumba met and hosted the first-ever Chinese Military Advisor to Uganda Col. Zhang Hao who paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs Headquarters, Mbuya a city suburb.
Bakasumba told his guest that the UPDF committed to further strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation with their Chinese counterparts as well as continue building on the already existing cooperation foundation for the benefit of the two sister countries.

On his part, Col Zhang hailed the historical relations between the Republic of Uganda and the People’s Republic of China dating back to the National Resistance Army (now Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces)
He observed that China has been an instrumental ally in the economic development of Uganda, particularly the Defence Industry.
He expressed commitment to enhancing the existing bilateral relations and military cooperation in various areas especially in the military area for the common good of the two countries.

Accompanying Col Zhang was accompanied Song Jinpeng, a Staff from the Chinese Embassy at their Kampala mission.
