FOCUS ON CLIMATE TECH INNOVATION PROJECTS
As the issues of climate challenges continue becoming a global security problem to all countries, there is a need for the stakeholders to work as a team to build strong synergies to curb the burden.

The stakeholders who attended a high-level Uganda Climate Tech Summit in Kampala last week had reasons to smile after a reputable global climate financing body, Legacy Capital announced a funding grant of USD$22M towards supporting climate innovation projects of which 50% shall cover selected from African countries while within the East Africa community Uganda shall bag a share of 15%
The grant was announced by the Legacy Capital founder and Chief Executive Officer Nela Duke Ekepenyong who revealed that Uganda shall bag USD$ 3.3m [12.5Bn] to help finance the building of their country climate tech innovation capacity as well as serve as a key bridge to strengthen STI climate tech research in the face of the surging negative implication brought about by climate disasters which have ruined economies of many countries globally.
Nela highlighted the role of the private sector in driving collaboration and advocacy, saying the aim is to create a framework for policy and set a precedent for other nations to drive sustainability in Africa. As wider intervention efforts are being worked by global stakeholders.
Participants noted in their resolutions that African Universities must address industry challenges through innovation, collaborations to enhance training and bridge the gaps between academia and industry.
