Ugandan artists have received a stern warning against wearing military-like clothing.
The caution came from Lt. Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso, the Presidential Advisor on Security, who specifically mentioned Alien Skin of the Fangone Forest as an example.
Nalweyiso also expressed concern about the increasing trend of musicians associating with gangs commonly known as a “Egaali”, emphasizing the dangers involved and the need for it to cease.

A recent viral video depicted Fik Zaga, a local artist from the ghetto, and his gang assaulting another artist, Kalifa Aganaga, who was alone at the time near the British Embassy.
Nalweyiso emphasized that artists should refrain from moving with such gangs and instead only associate with individuals relevant to their profession.

She stressed that the presence of gangs contributes to an elevated risk of criminal activity in the country, which the security agencies will not tolerate.
Furthermore, Nalweyiso urged artists like Alien Skin to either join the army and wear the uniform legally or refrain from wearing military attire altogether.
Several artists, including Joze Chameleon, Weasle Manizo, Pallaso,Fik Gaza, and King Saha , and political groups among others have been frequently seen wearing military-like clothing during performances.

However, Nalweyiso stated that anyone wishing to wear military attire must obtain permission from the appropriate authorities.
She emphasized that warnings will be issued and action will be taken against those who disregard this requirement.
“Alien Skin, do not wear our uniform. If you wish to do so, undergo military training. You can enlist in the army. Stay away from our combat. I understand that you have fans, but they should support you when you are not in army uniform,” Nalweyiso declared.
