Nakiwala condoled with the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions who lost their lives in the helicopter crash.

She noted that covering war or conflicts at times make journalists more argumentative with diverse interest in religious beliefs and undertones, human rights abuses, gender, capitalism, among others tend to filter through such stories while reporting and producing news.

She noted that called upon the media not to rely on international media partners, saying that most of them serve the interests of their masters and the news will be twisted accordingly.

She advised journalists to always localize the news for community consumption.

Some international media agencies have certain unique newsroom culture, ideologies, and politics among others which brings misinformation to the masses.

She noted that the main issue in Gaza is land annexation, resources and other issues are only smokescreen.
