CRIME
After purportedly fatally stabbing her boyfriend to death, Ruth Musimenta, a 30-year-old housewife and employee at NJ Business Solutions, attempted to conceal the body in the bedroom to cover up the crime.
The victim was stabbed in the neck while sleeping, resulting in his demise.
The suspect kept the deceased’s body in the bedroom for two days until May 19, 2024, when law enforcement recovered it. The Crime Intelligence (CI) unit in Mukono district, in collaboration with Mukono Central Police Station (CPS), conducted an intelligence-led operation after receiving information that the suspect was planning to bury the body in a shallow grave near a toilet.
The police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said police managed to arrest Musimenta for the murder by stabbing of her husband, Nsubuga James to death; on the night of May 17– 18, 2024, at their marital home in Katikamu village, Mpoma Parish, Nama sub-county in Mukono district.
He said the killer weapon of a knife was also recovered. “Two army shoes and a toy pistol, that belonged to the deceased, were also recovered from the house,” he added.
Enanga said the force strongly condemns such acts of violence and brutality within domestic settings.
“The tragic incident, brought an end to an abusive relationship between the couple. Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to killing her husband, in a pre-meditated manner, after she picked the knife and hid it in the bedroom,” he added.
He said the suspect is being processed on murder charges.
