As Christians across the world participated in the cross activity, members of the clergy have separately blamed the surging cases of rampant corruption among the population.
Saying some individuals have a poor small greedy heart who believe in amassing ill-gotten wealth to get rich quickly.
Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka of the Ecumenical Orthodox Church (EOC) Mamre International prayer palace made the remarks while preaching to a mammoth crowd of flock during the way of the cross healing and deliverance prayers in Kira Municipality Wakiso district.
Bishop Kibuuka lamented that corruption was a cancer which negatively derails government’s efforts in offering basic social services to the population which must be condemned by all sober minded citizens and ensure that culprits are brought to book.
“As the church we are disappointed that cases of syndicated corruption among both government and non-state actors were on the rise and we call upon the government using its many anti-corruption machinery to curb the problem with support from the public who are the potential beneficiaries of the stolen resources” he noted

He expressed concern that much as the government has set up multiple anti-corruption bodies, it appears as if the culprits applying syndicated systems are smarter in beating the investigations systems which calls for stronger consecrated efforts including local citizens to gang up against the thieves by exposing them.
“We are continuously still puzzled to see big people in government amassing wealth in an apparently primitive and questionable way, however as clergy we ask them to use this Easter season to repent and abandon such satanic behavior which could lead them into a permanent heavenly furnace’ cautioned Kibuuka.
Kibuuka congratulated the president and his government alongside the entire citizenry for reaching this day and urged all to use the season in repenting their sins by abandoning habits which are counterproductive to development of their motherland Uganda.
He urged the citizens to join hands in fighting to defeat the devil which holds them back in participating in economic development efforts of their country and ensure they all strive to resurrect with Christ on Easter Sunday thus accept to be born again to embark on a new life full of peace, god health, economic prosperity and love for one another respectively.
