A multitude of believers, hailing from the three Christian denominations that constitute the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC), came together to participate in a significant event known as the Way of the Cross.
These denominations encompass the Catholic, Anglican, and Orthodox churches.
This event, which symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, is led by leaders from each denomination who carry the cross, mirroring the path that Jesus took until his crucifixion.

The Way of the Cross, in its truest sense, signifies walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. In Kampala, prelates including Archbishop Kazimba Mugalu of the Church of Uganda, Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere of Kampala Lubaga Archdiocese, UJCC Executive Secretary and Bishop Elect to Juba and South Sudan Constantin Mbonabingi (representing the Orthodox church), and Bishop Antony Zziwa, who serves as both the UJCC Chairman and the head of the Catholic Episcopal Conference led the procession.

The procession concluded at the Old Kampala SS Playground in Kampala, where all believers gathered for prayers.
This year’s activity was held under the theme: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)
