A delegation of nineteen Muslim clerics from Libya have been received by the Mufti of Uganda, Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, headquarters Kampala.

The delegation was led by Sheikh Salem Omami, as part of the holy month of Ramadan program that was coordinated by Executive Secretary of the African Forum for Muslim Councils, in conjunction with the Libyan minister for Foreign Affairs and Islamic Religious Affairs, Dr. Ebraheem Ssali.
The delegation is expected to visit Senegal and Niger before the end of the holy Month of Ramadan.

Mufti Mubaje expressed gratitude to the visiting clerics for choosing to share the words of Almighty Allah with fellow believers during the holy month of Ramadan.
“You have indeed exemplified the true sense of brotherhood,” Sheikh Mubaje said.
He explained the historical background of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) and highlighted the longstanding cooperation between UMSC and Libya.
Sheikh Salem Omami was grateful to the Mufti and UMSC for their hospitality and for allowing them to serve in the divine path of Almighty Allah.
While in Uganda they will lead the Taraweeh prayers in various mosques around the Kampala during Ramadan, and they will sponsor Iftar meals to various mosques for the remaining days of Ramadan.

In attendance were Muhammad Ali Waiswa the Deputy Mufti, Abbas Ssekyanzi Muluubya the UMSC Secretary-General, Imran Ssali, Secretary for Religious Affairs,Hamid Sserwadda Busungu Regional Assistant to the Mufti In charge of Kampala Muslim Region.
Other were Sheikh Jamiru Kassimu Ntambi, Kadhi Lubaga Muslim District, Sheikh Ahmad Houd Galiwango, Kadhi Makindye Muslim District, Sheikh Badru Muwonge, Kadhi, Kawempe Muslim District, Sheikh Zakiyyu Burhan Sserujongi Semakula, Kadhi, Nakawa Muslim District and Dr. Abdullah Edris Sserwadda, the Principal of Islamic Call University College.
