Speaker of Parliament Anita Among urged members of the Teso sub region to join the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

Speaker Among today updated her record in the NRM party Apopong Primary School in Bukedea District, during the NRM party registration that ends tomorrow 17 March that was started Wednesday, March 13th.
She said this initiative is to register new supporters aged 16 and to update the particulars of existing members.
Among said success made is to the party’s longstanding credibility and the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
President Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, recently launched the registration at the party’s headquarters in Kampala.
Museveni explained the importance of scrutinizing potential members to ensure their alignment with NRM principles of patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy.

She highlighted President Museveni’s transformative leadership, which has steered Uganda towards progress and economic stability over the past four decades. She praised the President’s role in positioning Uganda as a regional and global economic powerhouse.
The registration process, overseen by NRM officials, aims for transparency and discipline, according to the party’s first National Vice Chairman, Moses Kigongo. Kigongo said it is good to update the party registration to maintain credibility.

Richard Todwong, the NRM Secretary General, affirmed the party’s commitment to President Museveni’s legacy and urged members to offer themselves for the party’s cause in future elections. He cautioned against subversive activities and urged loyalty to the party chairman.
The NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi said the exercise involves displaying the register in all 72,000 villages and convening village barazas for engagement on March 17th, 2024.
The accession attracted senior party members from the district to show significance of the registration drive.
