Dokolo
The Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) party has launched the campaign for their candidate for the Dokolo District Woman Member of Parliament (MP) by-election, Sarah Aguti Nyangkori.

Sharon Arach, the deputy spokesperson, announced during a press briefing in Kampala on the 13th of March 2024 that their candidate was officially endorsed on March 11, 2024 by the District Electoral Commission Registrar, Erikwaine Ngobi, in Dokolo Town Council.
Aguti was accompanied by the party President Jimmy Akena, Secretary General Fred Ebil, UPC Parliamentary Whip and Oyam District Woman MP Santa Alum, and Maruzi North MP Nelson Okello Lemba, Kwania District Woman MP Kenny Auma, Alebtong LCV Chairman David Kenneth Odongo, and Amolatar LCV Chairman also doubling as the party’s regional vice chairperson, Geoffrey Ocen among others.
Arach thanked the members of Dokolo for spearheading the nomination exercise, and showing solidarity.
She said the campaign will be led by the Party President Jimmy Akena in Amwoma and Dokolo sub counties.

She stressed that UPC members are already on ground mobilizing for the support of their candidate.
“We kindly appeal to the electorate and people of Dokolo District to rally their support behind the UPC candidate. She is in a better position to represent and deliver the necessary service for the people of Dokolo,” Arach noted.
She urged the campaign team and all UPC members to continue with solidarity, sacrifice, organisation and comradeship spirit exhibited so far.
“We encourage you to be more committed and hardworking than ever before,” she added.
The president of the party, Jimmy Akena, emphasized that UPC will not tolerate any attempts of election manipulation.

Referring to the Oyam North by-election from the previous year, Akena stressed the importance of maintaining a strong presence on the ground until every vote is accounted for.
He also urged the people of Dokolo to have their voices heard without any external influence.
Akena called upon all UPC stakeholders in the Dokolo by-election to fulfill their responsibilities and guarantee a just, transparent, and peaceful electoral process.
