The President of Uganda, Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has departed the country today March 14, 2024 for an official working visit to Zanzibar.

As per the Presidential Press Unit (PPU), this visit is in response to an invitation from the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The President was seen off at the Entebbe International Airport by several dignitaries including the Vice President of Uganda, Maj (Rtd) Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, Lucy Nakyobe (Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet), Lt Gen. Peter Elwelu (Deputy Chief of Defense Forces (D/CDF), Godfrey Golooba (Uganda Police Director of Human Resource Development), and Samuel Akena (Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons).
