President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a meeting at State House Entebbe on February 28, 2024, with a delegation from CN Light Technology, a China-based company.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the potential investment of $30m by CN Light in Uganda for the establishment of a computer and IT accessories assembly plant.

Ambassador Kilonzo Kiema led the delegation, which included Li Kaifu, the President of CN Light, Li Hong, the Vice President of CN, and Martin Grabler, the Senior Project Advisor.
President Museveni welcomed the delegation group to Uganda and assured them of the government’s support.
In a separate meeting, President Museveni, also received Ambassador (Rtd) Mohamed El-Hamzawi, a former Egyptian diplomat in Uganda.
He was accompanied by a consortium of Egyptian private sector companies who are interested in developing the sports infrastructure
and facilities in Uganda.
The consortium is made up of Samco-National Construction Company, with Eng Ibrahim Mabrouk as the Vice Chairman; Khater Sports represented by Eng. Yehia Radwan, a pioneer in specialized sports contracting; Estadat Holding Company specializing in sport facilities management, and El Raied International Engineering Consultants.
The group explored the potential of building and overseeing stadiums and sports facilities in Uganda.
“Sports facilities development is an untapped area, and we feel that our Ugandan brothers and sisters need to develop it and we are ready to
offer support,” El -Hamzawi informed the President.
This development comes in the wake of the successful East Africa Pamoja bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.
