The Ambassador of Venezuela to Uganda, Fatima Fernandes Juarez has commended the leadership of President Yoweri Museveni that has increased economic development and stability to attract its stewardship for international conferences.
Juarez said “I admire the courage and good leadership of President Museveni and that their government will closely work with Uganda, the current chair of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to settle international issues”.
She said during her one month stay in the country she has enjoyed the cordial relationship of the two countries.
Juarez made the remarks during her visit to the Secretary General National Resistance Moment (NRM) party Richard Todwong at the headquarters in Kampala February 12.

President Yoweri Museveni last month (January) this year was elected as chairman of the NAM during the 19th meeting that was held in Uganda. President Museveni is to chair the meeting for three years.
The NRM Secretary General, Richard Todwong while meeting the Venezuela Ambassador said the party is ready to boost its bilateral cooperation with the United Socialist party of Venezuela ruling party.
Todwong during the diplomat’s courtesy visit told her excellence that Uganda seeks to have more ideas to expand on the economic development and advance in technology.
“I congratulate your government for opening an Embassy in Uganda. With just only a month in the country we are grateful that you felt the need to reach out to us and cooperate with the NRM. We are very ready to work together for the good of both ruling parties,” Todwong said.
Todwong said NRM party welcomes all people and parties that share with it common interests and similar doctrines of leadership under the stewardship of President Museveni, an admired leader world over.
He requested the Ambassador to encourage Venezuela people to come and explore the beauty and diversity of Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

The External Affairs Director of NRM, Rtd. Maj. Awich Pollar said the party is committed to work with revolutionary parties to develop the two countries due to similar ideas and aspirations.
Maj. Awich said “It was right and fitting that such a revolutionary party paid a courtesy call to the NRM headquarters. By Venezuela having an Embassy in Uganda it gives us more opportunities of economic development and creating more relationships.”
He noted that like in oil exploration, an industry we have ventured into and we hope to improve our collaborations.
