Panic has gripped the residents of Kitanda Sub County, Bukomansimbi district in the Central Part of Uganda as a result of a peculiar disease that has tragically claimed the lives of four children.
Reports of the occurrence have emerged from the villages of Bakijjulula, Kabandiiko, Kabangereza, Missenyi, and Kyankoko, which are all situated in Makukuulu parish and Gayaza parish.
Based on available reports, it is indicated that this disease predominantly targets children in the age group of 10 to 15 years.
According to reports, the victims first experience moderate sickness symptoms before beginning to urinate blood.
Kamuli Joseph, the chairperson of the Kitanda subcounty, has already sent a letter to the district authorities regarding the disease, but they are yet to receive a response.
Dr. Kato Alfred, the health officer of Bukomansimbi, confirmed over the phone that he has already deployed a group of medical experts to carry out a thorough investigation.
