Muhammad Mukungu Ssalongo, a 55-year-old taxi driver from Brunduhira village, Dabani sub county, met his unfortunate demise at Mwesigwa guest house in Kisenyi “A” village, Busia Municipality.
Tragically, he passed away during a second round of a sexual encounter, mere minutes after engaging in an intercourse with another woman.
According to the police reports, on January 22, 2024, at approximately 8pm, the victim entered a lodge with a female companion and saw her off at around 11pm.
On his way back to the lodge, he encountered another woman whom he decided to spend the remainder of the night with. Unfortunately, it was during this encounter that he collapsed.
During a joint security briefing at the police headquarters in Naguru, a suburb of Kampala today January 29, 2024, Fred Enanga, the public relations officer of the Uganda Police Force (UPF), revealed that the man collapsed due to the prolonged sexual activity.
He said the woman immediately informed the guest house management, who then contacted the police. Subsequently, the body was taken to Busia Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.
The postmortem report indicated that the cause of death was excessive orgasm, which led to the rupture of blood vessels in the brain.
Enanga explained that death during sexual intercourse can occur due to various factors, such as physical strain, unusual circumstances, or the use of prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction.
He also mentioned that the risk of cardiac death increases with age, known as myocardial infarction, and that young adults can experience sudden arrhythmic death syndrome or cardiomyopathies.
Enanga advised individuals with such medical conditions to consult a cardiologist regarding the risks associated with sexual activity, although the likelihood of fatal incidents is very low.
This incident marks the second occurrence in the same area within a span of seven months, where another man lost his life during an intimate encounter with a female companion at a lodge.
