The Clarke International University (CIU) has announced 50% discount scholarships for 100 eligible students aspiring to pursue courses under the School of Business and Allied Technology.
Out of the 100 scholarships 10 slots are reserved for the Media Houses, especially Journalists who would wish to upgrade for Business and Information Technology Courses.
The move is to boost education and create opportunities for talented individuals to excel in their chosen fields.

“CIU is delighted to introduce the Clarke Group discount and 50% scholarships for 100 eligible students aspiring to pursue courses under the School of Business and Allied Technology.
She noted that the scholarship program is designed to make quality business education more accessible, aligning with the current industrialization trends and the increasing demand for competent business and ICT graduates. This initiative reflects CIU’s commitment to fostering education and creating opportunities for talented individuals to excel in their chosen fields.
“We believe in empowering the next generation of leaders and professionals. The scholarship program is a testament to our commitment to providing affordable and quality education in business and ICT,” said Prof.Rose Clarke Nanyonga, the Vice-Chancellor at CIU.

She noted that the eligible candidates are invited to apply for these scholarships and seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to receive education from the leading institution of higher learning in Uganda. The Scholarships is applicable in following course including Bachelor of Business Administration, Business Administration in Health Management, Bachelor of Applied Computing Technologies, Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management and Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics

What are the statistics
According to the 2016 ‘Africa Higher Education Student Survey Project,’ almost 30% of all students in Uganda, who join university education on various degree programmes in various universities, never finish their courses on time, or just drop out, according to Nanyonga, they want to bridge the gap.
“Imagine over 2 million children join the primary section and by the time they go secondary school, we have lost half the number and by the time join University we less than 2000 student, so our solution is not giving them 50% discount” said Nanyonga
Dr Nanyonga who was campaigned by Dr Malika Singh , the deputy vice chancellor CIU, Moses Alsayed Lubega, the USPA President and John Bosca Waliraki, the Coordinator School of Business and Applied Technology said Over the years, CIU has established itself as a premier institution, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs through its distinguished schools and institutes of School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Business and Applied Technology, Institute of Allied Health and Sciences and Institute of Public Health and Management
