November 18, 2023, His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope the IV officially wedded his Inhebantu (Queen) Miss Jovia Mutesi in a colorful function that took place at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe.

The Historical event was presided over by Archbishop of Church of Uganda Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu
The function attracted different dignitaries including, the Vice President Jessica Alupo who represented the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Former Vice Presidents Edward Ssekandi and Speciose Wandera Kazibwe, Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Kyabazinga with Inhebantu serving Nabagereka of Buganda Syliva Naginda, Queen Mother of Toro Kingdom Best Kemigisa Akiiki and Majesty Omugo Margaret Adyeri Karunga. This was during the dinner at Igenge Palace in Jinja
Others were Ministers, politician, Religion leaders, Cultural leaders from Uganda and outside the Country, Busoga Residents and others
Unlike other weddings where they use knives to cut the cake, this one was different as a sword was used.

Why a sword was used
Using Swords at a wedding is a very old tradition dating back to Roman times. Today the Wedding cake sword symbolises strength, courage, bravery and honesty.
It also symbolises marriage event after the wedding ceremony and keeps memories of the e wedding day Below are some of the pictures when Kyabazinga hosted his guests at a reception at the Kingdom’s Palace Igenge.
