As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Kampala University has today November 13, 2023 contributed shs 10m towards the success of the fourth-coming Busoga Kingdom Royal wedding dubbed “The Embaga ya Mwenemu”.
His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope the IV is set to officially wed his Inhebantu (Queen) Miss Jovia Mutesi on 18th November,2023 at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe and later host he’s guests at a reception at the Kingdom’s Palace located within the same vicinity.
The 10 Million Cheque was handed in by the University Vice-Chancellor Owek.Amb. Al-haj Prof.Badru D. Kateregga to the Deputy Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom Alhajji Osman Ahmed Noor.
Speaking after handing over the 10m, Prof.Badru D. Kateregga said they have been closely working with Busoga Kingdom for quite a number of years most especially through our Jinja based Campus located at Jinja-Iganga highway near Mailo Mbiiri and together we have done a lot as far as transforming our people is concerned.

“We are standing in solidarity with the Busoga, which is noble and dear to us, we pledge to continue supporting the Kingdom’s activities and the sky will be the limit.” Prof. Katerega noted
He added that, for some good time we have been extending bursaries to students from the Busoga worthy 400million Uganda Shillings and as a gift for this Royal wedding, we intend to continue with the same arrangements for more years, calling for the people of Busoga to continue supporting Isebantu , educating the young generation, work hard, to embrace the cultural norms, values and heritage for the prosperity of our lovely kingdom.
Prof.Katerega who was accompaniedbyRichard Kaberuka, the Jinja Campus director, Julius Ssekatawa , the University Public Relations Officer, Haji.Yunus Ntale and Ibrahim Mudathri. congratulated and extended his good wishes to the Kyabazinga and his future spouse for a happy marriage that will further strengthen the Kingdom of Busoga.

In his speech Alhajji Osman Ahmed Noor, the deputy Busoga Kingdom Prime Minister, applauded Kampala University and welcomed their contribution which he said was timely. He said they were grateful to have such interventions from friends and well-wishers of their King His Majesty William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Nadiope IV the “Kyabazinga of Busoga”, and the Kingdom at large.
“I’d like to extend our heart-felt appreciation and many thanks to the people who have so far shown our Kingdom and the King all the love and dedication to making his day a success”, said Ahmed Noor
He said they were set and up to speed with the highly coveted up-coming wedding event which is dubbed “The Embaga ya Mwenemu” that he said would be filled with pomp and an experience of high-end ‘Royalty at its best’.
