The Police officers’ wives who come from different Barracks of Kampala Metropolitan including Naguru, Ntinda police Barack, Nsambya fire Brigade, Nagalama, Kireka, Mukono, Wandegeya, and others voiced their alarm through (NRM) Secretary General Richard Todwong to President Museveni.

According to Komuhendo their report is intended to make sure that a police officer also lives in a conducive environment where he or she can manage to pay school fees and other needs for their families.

They also called for the need to establish police schools in every region to give a chance for the children of a police officer to study.
The meeting that took place at NRM Secretariat Kyadondo Kampala on November 3, 2023, attracted over 100 polices officers from Kampala Metropolitan

In his response Todwong assured of government commitment to improve their wellbeing.
“As the Party, we are committed to follow up and work with relevant authorities on all the issues presented including poor housing units, unreliable power to facilitate small scale businesses, lack of capital and skills to engage in production,” Todwong assured.

He noted that NRM is committed to improve lives of community and to prove this started with Luzira prison where he interacted with spouses of the prison wardens and visited some of their income-generating activities like bakery and furniture making.
On the issue of SACCOs, he advised that it is good they are already in place and we shall recommend the government to empower.

He commended the ladies for supporting the NRM party and their spouses when on duty, “The work that officers do is stressful and I believe you are loving-wives who handle them well when they return home.”
Todwong warned officers who harass and mistreat, officers whose wives support the NRM party.
“Our husbands are often harassed because we love and support President Museveni. This is unfair because we have the right to choose who to support,” the women leaders said

In his response, he warned perpetrators who commission such acts to stop. “Nobody has the power to intimidate an NRM supporter. We shall investigate this to its logical conclusion and culprits will understand that NRM is the party in power.”
Todwong was accompaniedRosemary Seninde, the NRM director for mobilization and Maj Rd. Awich Polar, the director of External
